Yankees Meet with Cliff Lee

The Yankees have officially kicked off the Cliff Lee Winter Meetings bonanza by meeting with him early this morning.  Brian Cashman had this to say:
"While we're in the same area, I'm going to try to meet with him as much I possibly can."
Do you think there's any chance Cliff Lee isn't the Yankees top priority?  Yeah, didn't think so.

Cliff Lee is reportedly looking for at least a six year contract.  To date, the Yankees have offered him five years.  I can see the Yankees playing hard to get by holding steady at five years for most of the week before finally increasing their offer to six years.  When it comes down to it, the Yankees aren't going to let a year (or a couple million dollars) get in the way of them signing the player they covet.  After all, they are the Yankees.  When was the last time the Yankees didn't sign the free agent they identified as their primary target?  At this point it's only a matter of time before the inevitable occurs.
